The variable service fee is based on the value of your investments (not your cash). In BUX Basic there is no threshold, so you will be charged 0,2% on all invested assets over the year. In BUX Plus, the variable monthly service fee of 0,1% is only charged on assets above €250,000, and in BUX Prime the variable monthly service fee of 0,1% is only charged on assets above €500,000.
The variable service fee is calculated daily but only charged once per month, on the same day as your monthly service fee. The only exception is if you upgrade your account type. In that case, the variable service fee that has built up until that point will be charged immediately.
Quick example on variable service fee cost:
Let's say you use BUX Basic and you have €2000 invested in stocks/ETFs. The variable service fee in BUX Basic is 0.2% annually.
- Apply the 0.2% annual fee to the €2000
€2000×0.2%=€4
So your annual fee is €4.
- Convert to monthly:
€40÷12= €0,33 per month
