As a regulated financial institution, BUX is required to conduct an appropriateness test for certain financial instruments. The test assesses your knowledge and experience regarding investing in these Instruments and ensures that you are aware of increased risks.

Which products require the appropriateness test?

You’ll need to complete the test before buying:

  • ETCs (Exchange-Traded Commodities) – products that track commodities such as gold or oil.
  • Crypto ETPs (Exchange-Traded Products) – products that track cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin.

When will I be asked to take the test?

You’ll be asked to take the test when you:

  • Try to buy a Crypto ETP or ETC for the first time, or
  • Create an Investment Plan (IVP) that includes one of these securities.

If your plan includes such a product, you can still create it, but the execution of that specific security (not the entire plan) will be paused until you pass the test. The affected security will appear greyed out, and a red warning icon will be shown next to the affected plan on the Plan page. Tapping it will guide you to complete the test and reactivate your plan fully.
